Strengthening and developing FSC certification in Ukraine requires a deep understanding and integration of its values into the forest management system. It also requires effective interaction between various stakeholders, whose interests might sometimes be opposite. All this encourages the search for balanced solutions for responsible forest management, maintaining the supply chain integrity, and increasing society's credibility.

During the forum, in accordance with the program, our speakers will:

‒ provide an overview of the status and trends in FSC certification worldwide;

‒ describe the development of FSC certification in Ukraine through the lens of its values and current challenges;

‒ specify the institutional basis of forest certification as a voluntary instrument of state governance in the forestry sector;

‒ outline FSC certification as a driver of transformation of the management system and operational practices of certificate holders, considering social values;

‒ demonstrate the potential of FSC certification as a mechanism for engaging of non-governmental organizations to ensure responsible forest management.

We'll all work together during the forum to identify a set of solutions and actions needed to promote responsible forest management, considering the interests of various stakeholders and based on the values and requirements of FSC certification.
