Rebuild Ukraine is arguably the world's largest international forum dedicated to Ukraine's recovery, serving as a platform for strategic discussions on comprehensive reconstruction and addressing community urgent needs in water supply, energy, and security.
The event brought together key stakeholders involved in Ukraine's recovery process: EU representatives, government delegations from Ukraine and partner countries, as well as leaders from energy, construction and manufacturing sectors, financial institutions, and civil society.
The forum created a unique ecosystem for developing international cooperation and initiating new partnership opportunities. The FSC stand drew particular attention from participants, showcasing innovative and sustainable solutions for responsible forest management. The presented FSC initiatives fully align with the New European Bauhaus program's goals of creating a sustainable, inclusive, and aesthetic future for Europe through environmentally responsible wood construction. The implementation of FSC international standards also supports Ukraine's European integration through harmonizing approaches to sustainable forest management and green economy development. Notably, in Ukraine, over 500 organizations hold FSC certificates, voluntarily implementing international standards to preserve forests for future generations.
As part of Rebuild Ukraine, a specialized webinar on European sustainable wood construction initiatives was held. FSC experts and partners presented key findings from the report "The Role of Wood Construction in Ukraine's Recovery: Review of Strategies and Initiatives". The online event gathered a wide range of industry professionals and representatives of the international community. Details about the webinar are available here.
